Iran Seeks To Set up New Port On Sea Of Oman Coasts

An Iranian deputy minister of roads and concrete growth on Sunday revealed that establishing a brand new port on the Sea of Oman coasts has been put atop the agenda of the ministry. 

Referring to the final insurance policies of the 7th 5-12 months Socioeconomic and Cultural Growth Plan, Shahriar Afandizadeh stated feasibility research have been carried out for demarcating a brand new port on the Sea of Oman coasts within the neighborhood of Jask oil terminal along with the Chabahar Port.

Turning to the importance of the event of the ocean economic system as emphasised by Chief of the Islamic Revolution and taking note of it within the basic insurance policies of the 7th Growth Plan, he stated the particular consideration paid to the event of Makran coasts exhibits the need of creating a brand new port on the Sea of Oman coasts, along with Chabahar Port, from the technical and financial factors of view.

For this objective, feasibility research have been carried out by the Ports and Maritime Group to demarcate the institution of the brand new port, he stated, noting that building of the brand new port has been proposed by the PMO at Mobarak Mount within the neighborhood of Jask oil and refinery space.

Street and rail networks might be designed in line with the wants of the port as a way to facilitate its connection with the territorial and extraterritorial areas, the deputy roads minister added.
